CBD West End Transformation One Step Closer to Reality

QV1 is set to become a leading destination for commercial businesses and boutique retailers having recently received development approval by the City of Perth for a major redevelopment of the retail plaza and introduction of new tenant amenities.

The redevelopment will see the tower’s iconic plaza area transformed to become a vibrant meeting place in the west end of Perth’s CBD where city workers and visitors can enjoy quality food and beverages, pop up events or catch up with friends and relax in the lush environment.

At the heart of the plaza will be a living mural garden bed, designed to complement Harry Seidler’s existing architectural work and bring an element of Kings Park to the city.

The highly anticipated third Mary Street Bakery is the first retail tenant to commit to the project, followed by a unique ‘eating house and bar’ style restaurant set to open later this year.

Co-owned by Investa Commercial Property Fund and Eureka Funds Management, the transformation will also provide tenants with new state-of-the-art amenities and dynamic shared spaces to create an urban community environment.

Investa Office, Perth and Sydney Portfolio General Manager, Tom Simurina said the co-owners are committed to ensuring the lifestyle facilities on offer matched up to the premium status of the QV1 building.

“Our goal is to create an upmarket, lively precinct that celebrates Perth’s foodie culture and gives tenants, office workers and visitors a place to relax and enjoy with friends.

“We are hoping the redevelopment will be a welcome addition to the evolving food and drink scene in the city, providing more opportunities for boutique food and beverage retailers and diversity for people visiting the city.”

The redevelopment will also involve the creation of a best in class premium end of trip facility for the office tenants of QV1, in addition to a childcare centre on the podium level.

Tanya Lambert, Asset Manager at Eureka Funds Management said embarking on this major development is an exciting time for QV1 which will see it cemented as Perth’s pre-eminent office address.
